Monster Truck Rally

Chad wanted to take Broden to the Monster Truck Rally! We had a fun night out. We went to Cafe Ri0 for dinner then off to the fair grounds. We met up with Chads brother and his wife and little boy Jaxton. Broden's favorite was the motorcycles, one of them did a back flip.

It is getting to be such nice weather here. One Sunday night we roasted marshmallows in the backyard. The kids had so much fun. I was excited because I could get my fix of burnt marshmallows without going camping!

Ronica hid Easter Eggs outside Sunday afternoon. The boys had so much fun finding them. It was a little windy so my brothers decided to try to fly Brodens kite. Try as they might it never stayed up in the air.

I love it when all my family gets together we always have so much fun together.

A couple days before Easter Broden and I had a funny conversation, it went something like this..
Broden- "Mom, I need to get on your computer."
Me- "Broden it is time for bed. Why do you need to get on it now?"
Broden- "I need to look up something for the Easter Bunny to bring me."
Me- "What? Broden are you kidding me? The Easter Bunny does not have an Email address."
What happened to just getting the plastic eggs full of candy? We now have to send the Easter Bunny wish lists?

This weekend my brother and his wife Andrea and baby Sofie came to visit.

We all decorated Easter Eggs on Saturday night.

Broden is in his school choir. He practices every Monday and Wednesday after school. They had a concert out at Tuachan. He was so nervous, but he did a great job.

Broden was suppose to go out of town with his dad, so he was going to miss the Pinewood Derby. (I was so sad about that. ha ha)
But plans changed and he didn't end up going, so thanks to my dad and brother Jake Broden was able to go.

Even though his car didn't place he had a great time.

This week is our Spring Break. Broden was invited to a St. Patty's Day Party this morning. I told him to go to his room and get dressed and to wear something green....

He walked out and said "Mom how does this look?"

I had so many things running through my mind at that point, strips and plaids, all the colors, I could not even focus on one thing. I told him to change the shorts or the shirt but cant do both. He told me "Mom, I just want people to see that I am wearing green so I don't get pinched."

A couple of weeks ago my mom came home from work and told us about this guy that came into school with a puppy. He told her that two puppies were left in the house they just moved into. If you know my mom you know that she loves dogs. So that night she went and got the puppy. She is so cute her name is Bella. She is a Golden Retriever and Lab mix.

Sorry it has been forever since I have blogged! I am such a slacker! Everything is going good, I am working part time at the Buckle. Life here is good it is nice to be here with my family, they are such a help to me. Broden is in the school choir. He goes twice a week after school and is loving it.

Brodens birthday was Feburary 5th. He had a great Birthday. On his birthday was Pack Meeting he got his Wolf. He was excited that it was on the same day.

On December 4th Broden got his bobcat at pack meeting! Thanks to his great Scout Leaders from Georgia and Utah. He was so excited to get up in front of everyone and get his patch.

When he was getting his Bobcat they painted his face and they told what it represents.

Broden thought that was way cool.

This past weekend we went up north to go to Sofie's blessing. It was so fun to see my brother Derek and his wife Andrea and of course Sofie! Even if it was only for a couple of hours. Sofie is so cute and is getting so big. They are coming for Thanksgiving I cant wait to see them.

So as most of you know Broden & I have moved back to Utah. Broden is doing so well, he loves his 3rd grade class and loves being back with his family & friends! I just wanted to thank everyone who help us move so quickly I couldn't have done it without all of you!

Broden is loving 3rd Grade!! He likes his teacher and has made a lot of friends in his class. He had his first project of the year. He had to make a Mobile about him. I think he did a great job.

When I went to back to school night it was hanging above his desk!

So one project down, a lot to go!!

Broden tested for his Second blue belt on Saturday! In his Karate starting with blue belt and up you have to do each belt twice. So Broden got his second blue belt! He broke his board on his first try and got a 90 on his form!!

Me and another mom figured the boys would be testing for their black belts this time next year!

My Husband LOVES the Cubs! He is so excited every year when they come into town to play. This year they happen to come on my birthday. I told him that a Cubs baseball game was the last place I wanted to spend my 30th birthday at! Don't get me wrong I love to go to the games but come on my birthday!! ha ha (which the game got canceled because of rain anyways!) We went to the game on the 13th. We went with our neighbors Brian and Meg and their two kids Dylan and Emmie. We had a great time and Bill was happy because the Cubs won!!

Today was my 3oth birthday! I had a great birthday.

On August 2nd Broden was baptized by my brother Jake and confirmed by my dad. Broden turned 8 in February but wanted to wait to be baptized til Jake got home from his mission.

My sister is getting married October 17th!

Broden got his braces off yesterday! He was excited and now he has to wear a retainer for one year, but only at night so that is not to bad. I am glad it is only at night and not all day. I can just see it being thrown away at school.

We started our day off by going to the Parade.

The Train!!

So this morning we went to go and take some pictures of Broden on the train tracks for his Baptism invitation. The tracks are behind Walmart by our house. We started taking some pictures when we saw the train coming so we hurried off the tracks as the train came to a STOP right by us. I was worried that we were going to get in trouble. Two guys got out and came up to us and asked if Broden wanted to go up and get in the train. So Broden got to go inside and see how the train works. He got to blow the whistle, which he thought was so cool! The guys were so nice, they said that they sometimes stop at Walmart and grab something to eat. So I am hoping that we got some good pictures.

Broden got his Blue belt on Monday! He got great scores 90 for his form, 90 for his self defense, and 80 on his sparring. Good Job Bud!!

Broden tested for his Blue Belt on Saturday. Since he was a Purple Belt he had to break a board for testing. I thought I would record him breaking the board. He is doing so well in Karate. It is a big commitment, he goes twice a week. Me and the other moms that are there every time, joke that we are "testing for OUR Blue Belts" also. He will find out on Monday if he gets his Blue Belt.

All week Broden went to Scout Camp, (8:20am - 2:20pm). No over night camp yet, one step at a time. It was hard enough for me to leave him 6 hours. Ha ha! I went to help out on Monday. It was very hot, but the boys did not seem to mind they were having to much fun. Broden is so excited to start going to Scouts!

As you all know I was the Room Mom for Broden's class. We had the party on the last day of school. I made Mrs. Smith a scrapbook of pictures through out the year. Then I had each of the kids write her a letter about their favorite things about 2nd grade. She loved it. I don't know who is going to miss Mrs. Smith more, Broden or me? She was such a great teacher I am so glad Broden got to be in her class.

We all got together at Partners Pizza for dinner and to give out awards to the boys and the coaches. Bill video taped some of the games and put together a video for all of the boys to remember this season it turned out great. I am so lucky to have such a talented husband! Thanks babe! Broden's Baseball team has improved so much over the season. His coaches have been so good to work with all the boys. They have had practices twice a week to help the boys learn about baseball. Well... it worked. We went into the tournament on Saturday 4th in the league (only 6 teams in the league) We won our game on Saturday! Which meant that we played the #1 team on Sunday. WE WON!!!! We were so excited for the boys. We then played on Monday night for the championship. We lost 7 to 10. But all the parents were so proud of the boys for how they improved over the season. Broden did so go this year I hope he plays baseball in the fall!

My brother came home from his mission in Ghana, Africa on Wednesday. All of the family went to St. George for the weekend to see him. It was so nice to see everyone and to finally see Jake. He had his homecoming on Sunday it was so neat to hear him report his mission. He has grown so much and you could tell that he loved his mission. It is so good to have him home!

Every day I walk to the bus stop to meet Broden after school, and the same conversation happens each time. How was your day? Do you have homework? Did you bring your reading book home? When we get home I always go through his papers, I love to look at his work. I am amazed how smart he is. ha ha (proud mom moment) Yesterday this was one of his papers, I took a picture but I don't think you can read it so I re-typed it. I thought it was so sweet.

There are a lot of ways that make me lucky. I feel lucky because I have great parents. They take good care of me. I feel lucky because I have a great teacher because she takes really good care of us. I feel lucky because I have great friends. I have great friends because they are really nice to me. I am lucky for my family. My

family takes care of me and loves me. These are all the things that make me lucky.

We stayed home this year since Broden and I are going to Utah on the 23rd for my brothers Homecoming. The week started off with bad weather and me being sick on Monday. Tuesday we went and saw Horton Here's a Who! Wednesday we went to feed the ducks, but they were not that hungry which I am sure is from kids feeding them all week.:)Thursday we went and saw Nim's Island.

An exciting thing this week is Broden starting to learn to ride his bike. He has never had an interest in learning so I was so excited that he is wanting to learn. He is still nervous so it is a slow process.

Bill bid and won tickets at Broden's school auction for opening day. We went with our friends John and Mary Ann. They are HUGE Pirates fans so they were excited to go with us. It was a great game, it went into extra innings and the Pirates won 12 to 11!

First Injury!!

Yesterday at Baseball Broden had his first injury. He was up to bat and the ball hit his knuckle. He was such a trooper, he still ran to first base and was safe. He then looked down at his hand and saw that it was swollen and was starting to turn purple. So we spent our afternoon in the Emergency Room. Thank goodness it was not broken and only bruised. They put it in a brace and wrapped it. Broden's reaction was... "Cool, can I keep this on for school on Monday, and can my friends sign it?" I am just glad he can still play Baseball!

Three Little Pig Opera

Broden's 2nd grade class put on the play of the Three Little Pigs, Opera style! Broden was one of the narrators. He did so good, he has been practicing his part for weeks.

Also it was his teacher's birthday on the 10th. We brought in cupcakes to the class. He has such a great teacher this year. I am sad to see this year almost come to an end. I have been the room mom this year it has been so much fun to help in his class!

Broden had his first Baseball Game. He did awesome!!! He got on base and had the biggest smile when he crossed home plate! Even though his team lost by one run, I think his team is number one in my eyes.

Winter Break in Utah!

So for our winter break we went to Utah. It was fun to see all of the family, everyone was there. (Except Jake, he will be be home in April.) Broden and I were sick and had to go to the doctor, so that was not fun to start our vacation off. We all celebrated my mom's bday which was on the 1st, Broden's was on the 5th and my dad's was on the 23rd. February is a busy birthday month.

Broden had his first Baseball Practice! He did Awesome. He has only played one year of Tee Ball and I was a little nervous about him doing machine pitch this year but to my surprise he hit two balls. Opening Day is March 8th so I will keep you all posted on how he does!

As you all know Broden is all about the Camo, so it was no surprise when he wanted to decorate his Valentine's Box in Camo! He had a Valentine's Party at school it was fun, I made heart shaped cookies and the kids decorated them. We also played Valentine's BINGO.

He got a 90 (which is the highest you can get) on his form, self defense and sparing.

Broden turned 8 on Feb. 5th. He had a birthday week not day! On Tuesday I took cupcakes to his class and also ate lunch with him. That night Bill, Broden and I went to dinner. Broden picked Long Horn Steak House. After dinner we came home and he opened his presents. We had his friend party on Saturday. We went and saw the movie Water Horse and then took them to dinner. After that we came home and had cake and ice cream and opened presents. Broden LOVES camo so that was the theme of his Birthday. I can't believe he is 8! He is such a great kid. I am so lucky to be his mom!

It was Bill's birthday on the 2nd. We celebrated it last weekend because Broden and I flew out to St. George to surprise my mom for her birthday. I have the best husband. He was so sweet to let me miss his birhtday to go spend the weekend with my mom. I am so lucky to have him in my life. He is my best friend. There is never a dull moment with him, he is always trying to make me laugh. Thanks for all you do for Broden and I. Love you babe.

Broden's school had their annual Folk Dance tonight. The kids have been learning different dances in P.E., so this was their time to shine and show their parents what they had learned. Pay attention to the song they did the Electric Slide too. Only here in Georgia would they do it to the song "I like the way you move" Never in Utah! Ha Ha!

Today we woke up to SNOW! All the kids in the neighborhood were out having snowball fights and building snowmen. Broden even got to make a "real" snow anglel this time.

Today when Broden and his friends got home from school it started to snow. They were so excited they were trying to catch the snow flakes with their tongues.

They even were trying to make snow angels before the snow was sticking to the ground.

I love Christmas! I also love to decorate for Christmas. This in nothing compared to my moms 7 trees in her house, but I think I am off to a good start with two!

Broden's Karate

Broden had his first Karate tournament this weekend. He did awesome! He won first place for his form (which is a total of 44 moves he has to do in order). He also won third place in Sparing, which he has only done for a few weeks. Do I sound like a proud mom or what?

Fall Leaves

After living in the desert of Southern Utah most of my life, I am amazed at how beautiful the trees are here in the fall.

Golf Cart

Peachtree City is known for being a golf cart community. We waited 6 months before we got one. Bill wanted a fast golf cart and when he saw the yellow one it was love at first site. Broden does not like the color and reminds us every time he gets on. You might laugh at the idea but actually I love it. You can take your cart to Walmart, the grocery store, to school, the bank... ect. If and when we move I told Bill the golf cart is coming with us, and I will start golf cart communities all over. :)

We weatherised our golf cart! In the mornings I take Broden to the bus stop in the golf cart, it was getting to cold without the cover. People told me you can get little heaters from Walmart to put in your golf cart. People here use their golf carts all year.

Halloween 2007

This was our first Halloween in Georgia, Bill loves Halloween so he went a little crazy on the decorations! ha ha

Broden was Obi Won this year. Last year he was a Storm Trooper so maybe by the time he is 10 we will have the whole Star Wars cast! I helped out with Broden's school party that day, they had to dress up in book characters so I wore a Harry Potter cape.

Bill dressed up and sat out in front of the house. There were over 150 kids out trick or treating.
